At the Loghouse Matarangi we provide bed and breakfast style lodgings in the township of Matarangi. The accommodation is a beautiful and unique log house constructed with modern facilities and plenty of space for relaxation.
The Loghouse is a great place to stay and its construction is a thing of beauty, with all the logs each having their own individual character.
We can also provide personalised activities and tours for your entertainment. If you want to go fishing, hiking, golfing or wine tasting – tell us and we will organise it. We can take you on tours around the Coromandel or take you to specific events that are happening – it’s up to you. We even have the likes of bikes and kayaks for you to use.
Check out our Things to do in Matarangi page for some fun ideas.
Kev (Kevin Gould) built on a section of land in the quiet and relatively undeveloped seaside township of Matarangi back in 2002. Together with his family, he wanted to build a unique home away from home in which to enjoy fun filled weekends and sunny summer holidays.
Now, with his kids grown up and left home, Kev likes to share the beauties of Matarangi by opening his iconic beach dwelling up for others to enjoy through Loghouse Matarangi Private Hosted Accommodation and Personalised Getaways!
Kev is a keen golfer and enjoys kayaking, cycling and beach walks. When he’s not hosting visitors to Matarangi, Kev runs his own Electrician business out of the small township of Paeroa.
The Log House is located at 658 Matarangi Drive.
Whether coming from Coromandel or Whitianga, turn off State Highway 25 at the Matarangi signpost. Follow the road past the shopping centre until you get to a round about. Turn right at the round about and continue along Matarangi drive for 750m. The house is on the right – you can’t miss it!
Alternatively, call us to discuss transport arrangements such as pick ups from other locations (e.g. the Coromandel ferry or Whitianga airfield).
